The last round of the Insulate Colorado Rebate Program ended in February 2010. Please read on for an overview of the previous rebate program and stay tuned for future incentives.
The Insulate Colorado Program is a collaborative effort among ClimateSmart, the Center for ReSource Conservation, the Governor’s Energy Office (GEO), Xcel Energy and local governments of Boulder County.
Starting in 2009, you may be eligible for insulation rebates through either Xcel Energy or the Governor’s Energy Office. The following information will help you determine which program is right for you. Applicants are not eligible for both rebates.
GEO’s Insulate Colorado Program: Program Details

Rebates cover insulation in attics and/or exterior walls, and air sealing. |

Rebates are available to Boulder County customers of any utility provider, except for Xcel customers who do not meet the criteria for the Xcel rebate. (See Xcel Energy Customers: Program Details below or ask your insulation contractor.) |

Rebates cover 20% of the cost of the insulation and air sealing, up to a maximum of $300. |
| • |
Rebates are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. |
| • |
Rebates are only for installations begun after January 1, 2009. |

Xcel Energy Customers: Program Details

You cannot receive both Xcel and GEO rebates. |
| • |
Rebates cover 20% of the cost of the insulation and air sealing, up to $300 maximum. |
| • |
Rebates are only for installations begun after January 1, 2009. |
| • |
To qualify for a rebate, existing attic insulation value must be equal to or less than R-19 and the additional insulation must increase the post upgrade insulation value to at least R-40. For ceiling insulation that has an existing insulation value greater than R-19, the total post upgrade insulation value must be increased by at least R-25. |

Air sealing and weather stripping is eligible. |
| • |
Installers must be qualified contractors who are fully licensed, bonded and insured. If you install the insulation yourself, you will not qualify for a rebate. |
