Windmill House

a regional energy resource facility

The building sector is number one in the U.S. in electricity and natural gas consumption and greenhouse gas emissions production.  It also has the greatest potential for improvement in these areas through the use of cost-effective, market-ready energy efficiency approaches and on-site renewable energy generation.

To begin to take advantage of this enormous potential, Center for ReSource Conservation is working to develop the ENERGY CENTER OF THE ROCKIES, a regional energy resource facility.   The Energy Center’s mission is to inspire action that advances energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy conservation technologies and approaches in Colorado’s built environment.

The ECR will address inefficiencies in the building sector through education & demonstration, outreach, facilitation and technical expertise, specifically targeted to building industry and design professionals and consumers.  The ECR will work closely with energy research and development institutions to create an outlet for new renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies in market-ready applications.

Currently operating as the Energy Program of the CRC, the ECR will eventually be a state-of-the-art facility featuring interactive displays and educational tools; workshops and training programs; certified service and product referrals; technical design assistance; linkages to economic incentives and rebate programs; and general information, support and assistance with all types of energy use, conservation and clean energy generation needs.
