Boulder Tour of Solar & Green Built Homes

Guidebooks available for early pick-up.

The Boulder Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes, held on Sunday October 8th, is a premier opportunity for Boulder-area homeowners to see first-hand that solar and green built homes are comfortable, practical, reliable, and affordable; Tour participants are able to meet with the homeowners, builders, contractors, and installers to ask questions and discuss opportunities. Participants receive a Booklet and map of the homes, an educational CD ROM and a free compact fluorescent light bulb courtesy of the City of Boulder (while supplies last). All participants’ vehicle CO2 emissions will be offset by Renewable Energy Credits from Renewable Choice Energy. This year we offer 20 innovative green homes throughout Boulder County (see them here).

Volunteers Still Needed

Volunteer for the Tour of Homes and earn a free Tour pass.

Volunteer positions on Sunday, October 8th include helping the homeowners in the homes with traffic control, registering participants (see the photo of the fine gentlemen on the left), and handing out Tour books and maps. Volunteers work either a morning shift (9am - 1pm) or an afternoon shift (Noon - 5pm) and get a free pass to go on the Tour during the other part of the day (we'll also feed you lunch).

Volunteering for the Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes is a great way to learn about sustainable building and renewable energy technology, meet like minded people, and spend a Sunday giving back to the community.
