The 6th Annual Earth Day 5K Run/Walk and Expo

Back to a fast course with a strong commitment to a low-waste event

Celebrate Boulder's biggest Earth Day event and support the CRC by participating in the Earth Day 5K Run/Walk and Expo on Sunday, April 20th at the CU-Boulder Research Park on Colorado Boulevard.  The race is an official Bolder Boulder qualifier, and we expect close to 1,000 people to participate this year. We will be working with all race exhibitors and sponsors to keep the event as minimum waste as possible and hope to generate less than ½ of a bag of trash.

The race begins at 9am.  The pre-registration entry fee is $20 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under.  On race day, the entry fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children.  A limited amount of paper entry forms will soon be available at local running companies.  In the meantime, participants are encouraged to pre-register online at www.active.com

Looking for Trees that will Thrive In Boulder?

CRC’s Trees Across Boulder program has what you’re looking for

Solar PV and Solar Thermal Funding Opportunities for Local Nonprofits

ClimateSmart and Namaste Solar Electric announce grant programs

Two new grant programs will help local nonprofits that want to reduce their carbon footprint. In the past, community nonprofits were forced to make a financial choice between serving their own unique missions and saving the environment.  Now, thanks to the City of Boulder’s Climate Smart Program and Namaste Solar Electric, nonprofits can apply for grants to partially or in some cases fully fund the costs related to harnessing energy from the sun.  For more information or to apply for the ClimateSmart Solar Grant Fund available for solar thermal and solar PV systems in Boulder click here.  For more information or to apply for Namaste’s grant program for solar PV available throughout the Boulder and Denver area, click here.
